MD, PhD, Professor, Scientific Director of ARABKIR Medical Center-Institute of Child and Adolescent Health, Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of Yerevan State Medical University

Dr. Babloyan is the founder of ARABKIR Medical Center-ICAH, one of the major pediatric hospitals in Armenia. He is a surgeon and a public health expert. After graduation from the faculty of Pediatrics of Yerevan State Medical Institute he continued his postgraduate education in pediatric surgery in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where he got his PhD degree. Thanks to continuous training in renal transplant in Belgium and Switzerland he founded the organ transplantation program in Armenia. Professor Babloyan is the Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of Yerevan State Medical University since 1997.

He was the President of the National Assembly/Parliament of the Republic of Armenia after leaving the Chairman position of its Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood. He was the Minister of Health of RA from 1991 to 1997. Dr. Babloyan has a long experience working with World Health Organization (WHO) being a member of the Standing Committee of the Regional Committee for Europe (WHO); a member of the Technical Steering Committee on Child and Adolescent Health (WHO) and a member of the WHO Executive Board.

He is the author of 3 scientific discoveries, 8 monographs and over 235 publications.

Internist, Surgeon

Between 1989 and 1992, Dr. Vigen Khachatryan worked in various positions: as an internist at the Askeran Central District Polyclinic of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR or Artsakh), chief physician of the Dashbulagh (now Artsakhashen) rural district hospital of the Askeran region, chief physician of the Askeran Central District Polyclinic.

From 1999 to 2001, he completed clinical residency of “General Surgery”. From the moment of the formation of the health care system of the Shushi district, from 1992 to September 27, 2020, he worked as an executive director and, concurrently, a surgeon in the Shushi Regional Medical Union.

In 2014, by the decree of the President of Artsakh, Vigen Khachatryan was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Doctor of the NKR".

MD, PhD YSMU, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Gevorg Yaghjyan, MD is a specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with an impressive professional following. In addition to his own full-time surgical practice, Dr. Yaghjyan offers his expertise as a consulting surgeon to the leading general and sub-specialty surgeons in Armenia and Karabakh.

Former Vice Rector of the Postgraduate and Continuing Medical Education at Yerevan State Medical University from 2007-20011 (YSMU), he is Associate Professor at the university Hospital’s at Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

In 2010 he was awarded the Gold Medal for Excellence in Teaching from Yerevan State Medical University (devoted to 90 anniversaries). In 2011 Dr. Yaghjyan was honored with the “Drastamat Kanaian” Gold Medal from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

Over the past 10 years, Gevorg Yaghjyan took active part in educational and professional training programs at renowned medical centers and universities around the world— University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, Cornell University, University of Salzburg, among them. In 2008, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Yale University, which he has had to postpone due to the extraordinary demands of his thriving surgical practice and teaching commitments.

In 2013 he was again awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in Boston University Medical School.

Dr. Yaghjyan served as Director of Medical Programs at the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia and as Acting Director of the Isotope Production Center in Armenia from start to completion from 2011-2015.

MD from Yerevan State Medical University Pediatrics department

Deputy Country director on developments and the Healthcare programs director of Fund for Armenian Relief of America (FAR), Monitoring officer in Armenia of Artsakh-Armenia Fund (AAF). Involved in International Medical Congresses of Armenia as an Organizing committee member since 2007.

Dr. Simonyan is a Board member of FAR Fellowship Alumni's Association, International Medical Advisory Board Member of a Direct Relief International organization (USA), Scientific Board Member of National Medical Library, member of Board of Trusties of ICPD, a member of Pediatric Association of Armenia.

Dr. Simonyan was awarded with recognition certificates and medals by the Governments of Armenia and Artsakh, as well as by international and local organizations. Authored a number of scientific articles published in both local and international peer reviewed journals.
